Online Counseling — AI & Relationships

A counselor on the other end. A reply by tomorrow.

No three-week wait for an appointment. Write your situation in your own words; a counselor reads it, replies in writing, and the reply is delivered within 24 hours.

01 — The engine

Human + AI. Each does what the other can't.

This is not a chatbot with a human-review checkbox bolted on. The two roles are designed to do different things, and they do.

Empathy, without an agenda

AI listens without judgment, without history, without ego — it doesn't care what role you played, who you used to be, or what's at stake socially. It can sit with what's actually being said. A human counselor can hear in the shadow of someone else's life what the writer is afraid to write.

Judgment, with accountability

Pattern matching gets you a draft. A trained counselor's clinical judgment is what makes the reply safe and useful. No reply goes out without a human on it — Stefan reads, edits, and signs every one.

Speed, with depth

AI handles structure, transcript organisation, and surface-level synthesis at machine speed. Human counsel handles meaning. Together: a reply by tomorrow without thinning what's said.

02 — The medium

Writing, not talking.

No camera. No scheduling. No retelling your story. Just words on a page — yours, then ours.

A century-old practice

Letter and email correspondence has a long therapeutic history — Freud himself worked through cases by post. We bring that medium forward with a careful AI assist and 24h turnarounds.

You don't have to perform

No on-camera anxiety, no awkward small talk, no scheduling. You write when it suits you, in your own words, and a counselor reads it carefully and replies. The medium is gentler for what's hard to say.

A fresh session, every time

Each session stands on its own. We don't keep an open file on you between exchanges; nothing about you is parked inside a long-running AI memory. You decide what to share, and what comes back is grounded in what you wrote — not in a profile.

03 — The Approach

Clarity.
Notjudgment.

Counseling gives you a structured space to name what's happening — free from defensiveness, shame, or pressure. Whether you're writing about your own reaction or about something happening between you and someone else, the goal is the same: understanding what's actually going on, and finding language for it.

01 —
Name the emotional dynamic Identify what's actually happening beneath the conflict — attachment, jealousy, fear of replacement, or something else entirely.
02 —
Reduce confusion and shame These feelings are new and unfamiliar. Counseling normalizes them and helps you think clearly without self-blame.
03 —
Improve how you communicate Learn to talk about AI in your relationship without it escalating — or shutting down entirely.
04 —
Clarify what the conflict is really about Often the AI is not the core issue. Counseling helps you find the real question underneath.

04 — Sessions

05 — About

Stefan Kohlweg —
counselor & technologist

I hold an MSc in Psychosocial Counseling from Sigmund Freud University in Vienna, and a BA in Recording Arts from SAE Institute Vienna. That combination — a technical background in audio technology alongside formal counseling training — shapes how I think about the intersection of people and technology.

I work with individuals and couples navigating AI-related relationship tension — through asynchronous email counseling that fits your life. AI-assisted systemic techniques, always reviewed by me before delivery. My approach is rooted in communication and emotional dynamics, not in judgment about technology use.

This is an under-served space, and I take it seriously. The goal is always the same: clarity, less shame, and better conversation.

Non-judgmental

Your situation is approached with genuine curiosity, not evaluation or agenda.

Communication-first

The goal is always clearer, calmer conversation — between partners, or within yourself.

Relationship-centered

Rooted in the complexity of real human relationships — not in abstract AI ethics.

Async-first

Designed from the start for asynchronous email — write when it suits you, receive clarity within 24 hours.

Common
questions

Everything you need to know before starting.

After payment, you fill out a short intake form describing your situation. Within 24 hours, you receive a structured email response using systemic counseling techniques — AI-assisted but always reviewed and approved by a qualified human counselor. You can reply or start a new session anytime.
Both. You can describe an individual situation or a relationship dynamic. You don't need a partner involved to benefit — many people use this to work through their own feelings about AI in their relationships.
For many people, yes — and sometimes more so. Writing gives you time to think, reflect, and articulate what you're experiencing without the pressure of a live conversation. The async format also means the response you receive is carefully crafted, not improvised. Research supports written therapeutic interventions as effective for relational and emotional work.
There's a full worked example here — a composite intake and the reply that would arrive within 24 hours. It's the clearest way to see what makes this different from a chatbot wrapper: structured, written by a system you can read end-to-end, signed by a human counselor.
Pay €99 per session via Stripe — no subscription, no commitment. After payment, you're directed to the intake form. One payment, one session, one email response within 24 hours.
You need at least a problem or topic you can write about — that's what the session works with. It doesn't have to be dramatic or fully understood, but there should be something concrete enough to put into words. That said, working things through before they prove themselves as a real problem is a rare luxury. If something feels off, that's usually enough.
Your messages are processed in the EU. Our AI assistance runs on Vertex AI in Google's Frankfurt region (europe-west3) under a signed Data Processing Agreement; your content is not used to train AI models and is not retained beyond what's needed to deliver your reply. Stripe handles payments separately under its own DPA. For details, see our Privacy Policy.
